Q: Who is eligble to be nominated for the NUS Awards?
A: Anyone who is a member of an NUS-affiliated students' union is eligible to be nominated for the individual or media awards.
Likewise, any NUS-affiliated students' union is eligible to be nominated for the union awards. However, the FE Students' Union and FE Unionist of the Year are restricted to unions within the Further Education sector and HE Students' Union and HE Unionist of the Year are restricted to the Higher Education Sector.

A: Anyone who is a member of an NUS-affiliated students' union can submit a nomination for an individual, union or media award.

Q: How can I nominate someone for an award?
A: In order to make a nomination you will need to refer to the relevant Award criteria and entry requirements and complete the NUS Awards nomination form .
Nominations should be supported by as much evidence as possible including testimonials, media coverage, promotional materials. Supporting evidence can be provided on USB or CD.
Two copies of the nomination form should be submitted.

Q: Why do I need to send two copies of my nomination?
A: Shortlisted entries will be forwarded to the judgind panel. We also keep a back up copy in the office to ensure no information is lost.

Q: Are NUS able to return my nomination?
A: No. Nominations will be sent to the judging panel and therefore cannot be returned.

A: No. Nominations should be submitted in hard copy format (or with CD, USB supporting evidence) in duplicate to:

Q: Can I nominate my own students' union or myself?
A: Yes. As long as you're a member of an NUS-affiliated students' union you are able to nominate yourself or your students' union.

Q: How will the judges make their decision?
A: Judges will be given the criteria and entry requirements for the award category they are judging. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence regarding their decisions will be entered into.

A: Nominations close on Thursday 9 April 2009. Nominations must be received at NUS by 5pm on that day.

Q: How can I/we promote the NUS Awards in our students' union?
A: A range of promotional materials including posters, leaflets and lollipops have been produced to display within your students' union. All materials are free.

A: Finalists will be announced in the week commencing 4 May 2009. The announcement will be made here at www.nusawards.org.uk as well as through other NUS communications channels.

A: The NUS Awards winners will be announced at an event to be held on Friday 12 June 2009 in London. Winner details will also be published here at www.nusawards.org.uk and through other NUS communications channels.
